The “Regional/Rural/Remote Business of the Year” award is a special category at the Beam Awards that celebrates the exceptional achievements and resilience of businesses operating outside metropolitan areas. This award recognises those businesses that have overcome the unique challenges of operating in regional, rural, or remote locations and have shown outstanding performance, innovation, and community involvement.

There will be one gold winner and one silver winner for this category.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• A business located in a regional, rural, or remote area of Australia.
• Demonstrates significant achievements in their industry despite geographical challenges.
• Shows innovation in business practices, adapting to the unique needs and opportunities of their location.
• Actively contributes to the local community and participates in initiatives that support local development.
• Exhibits sustainable business practices and growth.

Eligibility Criteria for Regional Rural Remote Business of the Year Category:

• Rural and Regional Australia is classified, for these awards, as businesses owned and operating outside a 50 km radius from a capital city of a state in Australia. The 50 km is from the outskirts of the city, NOT the CBD.
• Remote Classification: Under 5000 population
• Trading for a minimum of 12 months
• Business located in Australia.

Compulsory Requirements for all applications for Beam Awards 2024

• Australia Resident
• Business must have an Australia Business Address
• Must be over the age of 18
• Must be in business for a minimum of 12 months (unless applying for Business Professional of the Year or Femme in the Field)

Must be able to attend the Beam Awards Gala on the 1st June 2024. If you think you maybe away or overseas or have a significant event on this date, please do not apply. We hope to have all the finalists in the room on the Gala Night. Presenting an award to the recipient makes for a more enjoyable experience for you and the guests in the room that come to see you win.
