Embark on a journey through time as we revisit the roots of the Beam Awards, which began as the Woman to Watch and Man to Watch awards. Our inaugural year, 2021, marked the beginning of a new era in recognising outstanding achievements, starting with the Woman to Watch and Man to Watch awards. This initiative was our first step towards celebrating individuals who were making significant strides in their fields. In 2021, the excitement and enthusiasm generated by these awards were palpable.
However, in 2022, we faced a challenge with the Man to Watch category due to a lower number of nominations.
Undeterred, we pushed forward, focusing on the Woman to Watch awards, which culminated in an in-person event in Brisbane. This event was a milestone for us, with an attendance of over 100 people, marking our first live gathering to honour exceptional women. It was during this period of growth and reflection that we recognised the need for a more inclusive approach. Thus, the transformation to the Beam Awards was born.
Our aim was to create a platform that not only recognised women’s achievements but also embraced the accomplishments of all business professionals, regardless of gender. Today, the Beam Awards stand as a testament to our evolution and commitment to inclusivity.
